THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE TO BE LOCKED DOWN FOR THREE DAYS

The Third Mainland built 30 years ago which is said to have less maintenance in previous times  is now to be under  test for three days, this test will be carried from midnight of August 23 to midnight of August 26, 2018 before  proper repairs commences in future.

Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr.Ade Akinsanya made an appeal to all motorists and also stated in a statement on Sunday that the decision was taken after due consultation with the Federal Ministry of  Power, Works and Housing.

However alternative routes has been mapped out by the Sector Commander of FRSC Lagos state, Mr. Hyginus Omeje and the Chief  Excecutive Officer of LASTMA Mr. Chris Olakpe as;
 Motorists coming from Lagos or Ibadan should go through Ikorodu-Funsho Williams, Western Avenue to Eko bridge.
From Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, connect to Orile, then to Eko Bridge or Ijora Olopa.
Those moving out of Lagos Island should make thier way to Adeniji Carter Bridge, Idumagbo down to Oyingbo, then to Herbert Macaulay in Yaba, to Ijora Olopa to Eko bridge.
People are adviced to use BRT Bus Rapid Transfer. While those coming from Ikorodu to CMS are been advised to make use of the waterways.
